New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS)

The NEIS Scheme is funded by the Australian Government's Department of Education,Employment and Workplace Relations and its aim is to help unemployed

people start their own small business. The successful candidates undergo an intensive training course in small business management for six weeks. At the end

of the training, if their business idea is viable, they receive income support for a further twelve months.

Over 1,800 people have been trained through the Scheme and we are proud of the fact that over 75% of these businesses are:

  • Still trading
  • Networking with other community service organisations
  • Participating in local and regional economic plans and activities.
